Odoo ERP Intern (Techno-Functional)

Internship Overview

We are looking for an Odoo ERP Intern who already has basic working knowledge of Odoo ERP, its modules, and how ERP systems are used in real businesses.

This internship is designed for candidates who want to strengthen their techno-functional skills by working on live Odoo implementations, configurations, and basic custom module development under guidance.

This is not a beginner-level ERP internship. Candidates should have prior exposure to Odoo.

Mandatory Knowledge Requirements (Must Have)

The candidate must already know:

• What Odoo ERP is and how it is used by businesses
• Core Odoo modules such as:
  • CRM
  • Sales
  • Purchase
  • Inventory
  • Accounting (basic understanding)
  • Project / Timesheets
• How business workflows move across these modules
• Basic Odoo configuration:
  • Users & access rights
  • Basic workflows
  • Master data setup
• Structure of an Odoo custom module:
  • __manifest__.py
  • Models
  • Views
  • Security files
• Basic custom module creation:
  • Simple models
  • Basic views (form, tree)
  • Simple business logic
• Difference between:
  • Standard features vs customization
  • Configuration vs development

Candidates without this foundation may not be suitable.

Key Responsibilities

1. Functional Configuration Support

• Configure standard Odoo modules based on given requirements
• Assist in setting up business workflows in Odoo
• Perform data setup, validation, and corrections
• Understand real-world business use cases and map them in Odoo

2. Custom Module Development (Basic Level)

• Create and modify basic custom Odoo modules
• Work on:
  • Python models
  • XML views
  • Simple business logic
  • Access rights
• Extend existing functionality under supervision
• Follow Odoo development best practices

3. Testing & Validation

• Test configured modules and custom developments
• Validate workflows against requirements
• Identify and report functional or technical issues clearly

4. Documentation & Learning

• Prepare basic functional and technical documentation
• Maintain notes on configurations and customizations
• Learn disciplined ERP implementation practices

5. Client Interaction (Limited & Supervised)

• Join client calls as observer
• Understand how requirements are discussed and clarified
• Take notes and assist senior consultants
• No independent client commitments

Required Skills & Profile

Technical & Functional Skills

• Prior exposure to Odoo ERP (training, internship, project, or self-learning)
• Basic Python knowledge
• Understanding of Odoo ORM and XML views
• Basic understanding of PostgreSQL (optional but good)
• Familiarity with Git/version control is a plus

• Clear communication skills
• Ability to explain what you’ve understood
• Professional behaviour in meetings
• Willingness to ask questions and learn

• Strong interest in ERP consulting as a career
• Ownership and responsibility
• Discipline in following processes

Education

• B.Tech / B.E / MCA / BCA / BSc (CS/IT)
  OR
• MBA / BBA / Commerce graduates with ERP/Odoo exposure

Internship Details

• Duration: 3 to 6 months
• Stipend: ₹8,000 per month
• Working mode: Office / Hybrid (as applicable)
• Internship certificate provided
