IT Operations Engineer

Role Overview

We are hiring a hands-on IT Operations Engineer to manage day-to-day IT operations, endpoint security, user access, Google Workspace administration, and basic on-premise server operations for a growing hospital IT environment.

This role is critical to ensuring secure, stable, and well-controlled IT operations across client-provided devices, hospital premises, and on-prem infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Device & Endpoint Management

  • Configure and manage client-provided laptops and desktops (Windows/macOS)
  • Perform OS installation, secure resets, and baseline hardening
  • Enable disk encryption (BitLocker / FileVault), antivirus, firewall, and updates
  • Maintain IT asset inventory (device, serial number, user mapping, status)

Google Workspace Administration

  • Manage Google Workspace user accounts (email, Drive, access policies)
  • Enforce:
    • Strong password policies
    • Mandatory 2-factor authentication (2FA)
    • Device access restrictions
  • Create and manage:
    • Organizational Units (OUs)
    • Role-based access
    • Shared drives and permissions
  • Handle onboarding, offboarding, and access revocation immediately on exit

User Access & Identity Management

  • Grant and revoke access to:
    • Email
    • Tools
    • Repositories
    • Internal systems
  • Ensure no personal email or unauthorized accounts are used
  • Maintain access logs and approvals

On-Premise Server & Infrastructure Support

  • Support basic on-premise server operations, including:
    • Server health monitoring
    • Disk usage and uptime checks
    • User access coordination
  • Coordinate with vendors or senior engineers for:
    • Server upgrades
    • OS patching
    • Hardware issues
  • Support LAN, switches, routers, and basic network troubleshooting
  • Ensure secure access to on-prem systems from authorized devices only

(Note: This role is not responsible for advanced server architecture or data center design.)

Security & Compliance Support

  • Implement endpoint and access security controls
  • Enforce data handling and storage policies
  • Ensure systems align with healthcare data security expectations
  • Support internal audits, access reviews, and compliance checks

Tool & Application Setup

  • Install and manage approved software and tools
  • Ensure only licensed and authorized applications are used
  • Configure role-based access to tools and internal systems
  • Prevent unauthorized software installations

On-Premises IT Support

  • Coordinate with hospital staff for on-site IT requirements
  • Provide first-level IT support to deployed teams
  • Resolve connectivity, access, and device issues
  • Ensure secure device usage within hospital premises

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain:
    • Device setup checklists
    • Access handover records
    • IT SOPs
  • Document standard configurations and procedures
  • Report risks, incidents, and improvement areas to Central IT Lead

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

  • 1.5 to 3 years in IT operations, IT support, or system administration
  • Experience handling office IT, endpoints, and on-prem environments
  • Prior exposure to Google Workspace administration is mandatory

Technical Skills

  • Windows and/or macOS administration
  • Google Workspace Admin Console (users, security, access)
  • Basic networking (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, switches)
  • On-prem server basics (Linux/Windows server awareness)
  • Endpoint security fundamentals (AV, firewall, encryption)
  • IT asset and access management

Soft Skills

  • Strong ownership and accountability mindset
  • Ability to work independently and follow structured processes
  • Clear communication with non-technical users
  • Discipline in security and compliance practices

Nice to Have

  • Experience in hospital, healthcare, or regulated environments
  • Exposure to backups, monitoring tools, or ticketing systems
  • IT certifications (optional, not mandatory)

Reporting & Work Model

  • Reports to: Central IT Lead
  • Work model: On-site / Hybrid (based on hospital deployment)
  • Role type: Full-time
